QUALIFICATIONS :
Associates degree, minimum of 60 hours of college credit or successfully completed Parapro exam
Ability to work with students with disabilities
Job Summary : A special education paraprofessional is a vital component to ensuring student's needs are being met. This position can be either an instructional paraprofessional or a one-to-one paraprofessional.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Be punctual and maintain schedule as dictated by building administration, special education director, or special education teacher
Properly and effectively notifying building principal, special education teacher, and Substitute coordinator when you are unable to be present
Able to lift and stoop
Enjoy working with students
Accompany students to the general education classroom, cafeteria, playground, restroom, and or other locations on the school campus.
Understanding regarding student behavior which requires patience-follow behavior plans
CPR / First Aid training
Ability to work well with others and take directions
Accept feedback both constructive and positive
Must perform personal care for students with needed
Willingness to be reassigned in order to help other needs in the district
