Kennel Attendants are an integral part of this mission, and are expected to support our entire Hospital team as well as our clients and patients. In line with our AAHA accreditation our hospital has: Surgery, Dentistry, Diagnostic Services, and a Medical Library.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of dog/cat handling. As a Kennel Attendant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to the animals in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service for clients.
- Assist staff with animal restraint when necessary
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs.
- Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinary staff.
- Mark food, medications, and belongings with the boarder’s name.
- Administer treatments: baths, anal expressions, nail trims, minor grooming, and coat care in a timely manner.
- Sustain cleanliness and neatness of hospital; including but not limited to: Kennel, Cat Room, Treatment, Exam Rooms, and back yard.
- Maintain laundry
- Restock exam rooms, and treatment
- Scoop yard and hospital grounds
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss animal care strategies and improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or handling is preferred but not required.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, walking dogs, and cleaning kennels.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs.
- Exhibit compassion towards all patients and clients.
- Must be able to multi-task both effectively and efficiently
- Aptitude for learning new tasks.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
