What You’ll Do
- Foster Child Learning and Development: Design and implement age-appropriate activities that support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of each child.
- Design Engaging Preschool Activities: Create fun and educational activities that align with preschool-aged learning needs, focusing on play-based learning.
- Promote Positive Social-Emotional Growth: Encourage self-expression, positive interactions, and conflict resolution skills in a supportive environment.
- Model and Teach Problem-Solving Skills: Guide children in developing critical thinking skills and managing emotions, using problem-solving strategies.
- Prioritize Health and Safety: Ensure a safe and clean classroom, supervise play activities, and follow health protocols to ensure the well-being of all children.
- Serve as a Role Model: Demonstrate respect, empathy, and professionalism, encouraging positive behaviors in children and colleagues alike.
- Create a Stimulating Learning Environment: Design an inviting and organized classroom that encourages exploration and creativity.
- Communicate Effectively: Keep parents informed of their child’s progress and collaborate with colleagues to support each child’s development.
- Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all playschool guidelines to create a structured and safe environment for children.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry children and materials up to 40 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and sitting on the floor to interact with children
- Active involvement in outdoor play, including running and participating in games
- Strong visual and auditory alertness for supervising children in a variety of settings
Work Environment
- Fast-paced environment with constant interaction with children
- Active setting, both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions
- Varying noise levels, from energetic play to quiet moments during nap or learning time
Qualifications
- Must have current Infant/Child/Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
- Must be enrolled in the Criminal History Registry (prior to start date)
- Food Handlers Card and Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect certification required
- 15 hours of annual training or education related to early childhood education
- High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in early childhood education (ECE) or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with children, especially in a preschool or childcare setting, is preferred
Technology & Computer Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) or equivalent
- Ability to manage organizational databases and communication tools (e.g., email, ProCare)
- Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality best practices

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
