Cape Fox, subsidiary Mountain Point is seeking a Process Control Operator to join our team. The Process Control Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of a dissolved oxygen plant by monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment to concentrate oxygen and dissolve the oxygen in both fresh and salt water, while adhering to regulatory standards and safety protocols. . Army policy requirements to maintain an Authority to Operate (ATO). Other duties may be assigned as needed in the future by management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Check water levels and pump operations
- Runs routine surveys every hour to determine proper operations
- Maintain plant records
- Observes and inspects plant quality of raw water and all plant equipment
- Must be capable of using push mower and tractor mower to maintain facility grounds
- Will be responsible for keeping all buildings and work areas clean
- Will assist in minor maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Prepare daily reports on plant operations and controls
- Employee will be subject to emergency call-outs as needed
- Must be available to work on any shift either day or night, the Dissolved Oxygen Plant is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation during the run season
- Performs routine grounds and building maintenance
- Must arrive at work on time and maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance.
- Undertaking planned maintenance
- Playing an active role in helping the organization set up and execute preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, or any other preferred maintenance program
Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to climb a vertical ladder for 40 feet.
- Must be able to work at heights up to 50 feet.
- Sit or Stand throughout a regular workday.
- Ability to work on a computer for long periods.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure, handle stress and deliver professional results.
- On call for emergency outages or issues
- Long hours and weekends may be required to meet deliverables.
Environment Compliance
Comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local environmental regulations including requirements contained in the Endangered Species Act (ESA) of 1973, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) of 1972, the Environmental Review Guide for Operations (ERGO), the Erosion and Sedimentation Act of 1975, and the and most recent Manual for Erosion and Sediment Control in Georgia published by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission. The Contractor, subcontractors, and their employees shall be knowledgeable of all regulations relative to their job and duties.
Education and/or Experience
- Associates Degree preferred, High School or Equivalent required
- Requires 5 years of experience in similar job duties
- Water/Wastewater Treatment Operations experience
- Proven self-starter
- Ability to determine and maintain critical parts inventory
- Hard working, ability to multi-task
- Good problem-solving and leadership skills and takes the initiative to get things done
- Personable, respectful, energetic personalities
- Good listening skills and can take directions, and communicate effectively
- Above all, take pride in establishing and maintaining a clean efficient work environment
- Experience with current security regulations and policies required
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Georgia Power Plant McIntosh Access Card
- US DoD Common Access Card (CAC)
- Professional certification is highly recommended but not mandatory.
- Must possess or obtain within first 90 days, OSHA 10-hour certification.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
- Computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
Safety:
- Complete required training prior to performing any work requiring such training as reference in EM 385-1-1 or OSHA
- Participate in Government provided training such as: CPR training, First-Aid, Blood
- Borne Pathogens, AED (Contractor pays for cost of course), Confined Space Training, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) Training, Fall Prevention, Chain Saw Safety Training, Haz-Mat Training, Boat Operator Training, and other training that relates to work required
