The Regional Director of Infection Prevention is accountable for the design and maintenance of a comprehensive infection prevention program and provides support in all infection prevention related activities associated with accreditation standards, state and CMS regulations, Board of Stewardship Trustees established goals, performance improvement, mentorship of new Infection Preventionists, and education within their respective geography, which are intended to ensure that the facility’s patients, staff & visitors will be protected from transmission of diseases & infection as identified in the core competency model by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).
Qualifications :
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following :
- Bachelor’s degree in related healthcare field (e.g. Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health) with minimum of three years’ experience in acute care and five years of Infection Prevention leadership.
- Must demonstrate adeptness in supporting the development of programs focused on achieving positive outcomes within infection prevention.
- Experience in an integrated health system is preferred.
- Experience in a matrix management environment involving integration of multiple entities is preferred.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
