What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Technician position at Mountain Research, LLC?
This entry level position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in a science discipline: Geology, Environmental, Biology, etc.
Duties: groundwater and soil sampling collection, geological/hydrogeological investigations, remediation system operations and maintenance, assistance / logging during environmental drilling operations, environmental site assessments, etc. Some overnight travel is required. Ability to tolerate all weather conditions (hot/cold, wet/dry, windy, etc). Care and maintenance of company equipment.
Skills/knowledge required: computer skills (word, excel, outlook), able to understand and carryout assignments and follow regulatory guidelines, proficient with field equipment: PID meter, drill rigs, data loggers, etc. Mechanical ability in making minor repairs and working on remediation systems, equipment is helpful. A valid driver's license and clean driving record is a must. OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training is needed (Company will supply if not trained). Independent work and attention to detail skills required. Overnight and regular travel Monday through Friday.
Professional Certifications/aspirations, a plus. (Professional Geologist, Geologist in Training, Underground Storage Tank Certification, Asbestos or Lead Certifications, etc.).
