What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Mountain State Waste?
The Primary role of the Controller is to provide high-level support to Management by overseeing accounting and financial activities and producing financial summary statements, forecasting financial health and correcting inaccuracies in financial records.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
Produces and manages balance sheets and analyzes future earnings and expenses.
Responsible for month end close process.
Assists with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization.
Assists with preparations for audits.
Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to applicable government regulations.
Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
Delegates accounting tasks to accounting staff.
Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.
Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
At least 7-10 years’ experience in an accounting management role
CPA or CMA preferred.
