Maintenance Clerk
The Maintenance Clerk ensures the smooth operation of the maintenance department that involves maintaining records, coordinating maintenance schedules, and assisting with inventory management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, service requests, and repair logs.
- Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule parts availability and delivery to maintain technician workflow.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of maintenance supplies and parts, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock.
- Work Order Processing: Receive, prioritize, and process work orders, ensuring that maintenance requests are addressed promptly.
- Documentation: Prepare and update maintenance reports, spreadsheets, and databases to track performance metrics and maintenance history.
- Communication: Communicate with maintenance staff, vendors, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely resolution of issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Support: Assist the maintenance team with administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role, preferably in a maintenance or facilities management environment.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with maintenance management software is a plus.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- 1 year of general office experience or equivalent training.
- Experience in the Solid Waste Industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with maintenance processes and terminology.
- Experience with database management and data entry.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and external vendors.
