The Opportunity

We are seeking an HRIS Administrator & Payroll Specialist to join our team in Jurupa Valley, CA. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the company's HRIS and payroll practices. You will play a key role in ensuring data accuracy, system efficiency, and timely payroll processing while contributing to HR projects that enhance organizational operations.

This position is full-time, non-exempt, and scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM. A hybrid work schedule will be considered after completing the probationary period, subject to approval by the head of HR. The company reserves the right to modify or revoke hybrid arrangements with reasonable notice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

HRIS Maintenance (60%) :

  • Act as the organization's subject matter expert for HRIS systems, processes, and administration.
  • Proactively identify and implement system improvements to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Partner with users to develop HR dashboards with key metrics and benchmarks.
  • Design, document, and monitor advanced ad hoc and ongoing HRIS reports.
  • Lead system implementations, upgrades, and integrations in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Provide training, troubleshooting, and end-user support for HRIS tools.
  • Ensure compliance with HR-related legislation, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Payroll Administration (40%) :

  • Document payroll processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Administer bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll using Paylocity.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee wages, deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Conduct payroll audits, resolve discrepancies, and process authorized deductions.
  • Support benefits administration, including open enrollment and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Research and stay current on payroll tax laws and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage garnishments, unemployment claims, and employment verifications.
  • Skills & Attributes

  • Expertise in HRIS systems and payroll administration, preferably Paylocity.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on process improvement and data accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience :
  • 3 years of HRIS systems administration experience, preferably with Paylocity.
  • 5 years in payroll administration, including 3 years in benefits administration.
  • Compensation

  • Compensation : $30.00 - $40.00 / hour, based on qualifications and experience.
  • Classification : Non-Exempt, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
  • Work Environment

    This is a full-time, at-will position with typical work hours scheduled from Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM

  • Physical Requirements :
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility and between departments as part of daily operational tasks.
  • Ability to lift and / or move up to 20-25 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate each department and the company's facilities as needed.
