An Excellent Opportunity
Mountain Valley Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Weekend Hospice Nurse to provide exceptional care to our patients and families on Saturdays and/or Sundays. This position offers 12-hour shifts (7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM) and involves being on-call during the shift, ready to respond to patient needs as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be available and ready to respond to patient visits when called during the shift.
- Provide weekend hospice nursing care, including symptom management and crisis intervention.
- Conduct patient assessments and administer medications as needed.
- Offer emotional support and education to patients and families.
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
How This Role Works:
As a PRN Weekend Hospice Nurse, you will be on-call during your scheduled shift and will respond to patient visits as needed. While there may be times with multiple patient visits, there may also be periods of waiting to be dispatched. This role requires flexibility, responsiveness, and a commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care whenever called upon.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in hospice, home health, or palliative care.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide compassionate end-of-life care.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
