The Accountant:
Mountain View Hospital and our 29 affiliate clinics are committed to providing compassionate, cutting-edge care to our patients. We serve the entire Snake River Valley – all the way from Pocatello to Rexburg. Our medical capabilities span everything from wound care to urgent care, oncology to neurology, physical therapy to speech therapy, a Level III NICU, robust robotic surgery department and a continuously expanding rural health practice.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax, and banking knowledge.
Experience: Minimum of three to five years of accounting experience.
Equipment/Technology: Needs to be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel and Outlook) and have excellent computer skills. Knowledge and experience with various accounting software. Experience with Oracle Cloud preferred but not required.
Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.

Duties And Responsibilities
The Accountant:
- Performs accounting, budgeting, and finance activities.
- Achieves accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of monthly financial statements.
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
- Analyzes financial results to gain understanding of the organization’s financial performance and communicates the financial results to senior management.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Completes special projects for Controller and others as determined.
