JOB SUMMARY: The Nursing Project and Policy Coordinator will review existing policies, procedures, and projects determining if they align with hospital goals and ensuring policies, amendments, projects, and clinical forms comply with regulatory standards; collaborate on various nursing projects, conduct research and assist in writing new hospital policies or amendments to existing policies; create forms in conjunction with the compliance department; communicate with department managers and educators, reporting on findings from research; document processes, projects, and disseminating information to education and hospital departments.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited RN program, Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho. Current BLS.
Experience: Two years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse preferred.
Additional Desired Qualifications: Training in technical writing and advanced research preferred.
Equipment/Technology: Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other prominent computer programs
Language/Communication: Ability to read, speak, and write in English. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Mathematical Skills: Able to perform advanced math skills
Mental Capabilities: Has the ability to apply critical thinking process. Able to function in a high stress environment and is able prioritize information related project development and implementation.
Interpersonal: Requires the ability to collaborate within the many different areas necessary but can independently reference essential material. Establishing good working relationships with all members of project teams.

- Apply nursing knowledge in evaluating existing policies, procedures, and projects.
- Determine if nursing policies, projects, and procedures are aligned with stated hospital strategic goals and practices.
- Identify disadvantages and omissions in existing nursing policy frameworks.
- Collaborate with department managers, Risk Management/Compliance, Quality Resources, and education department to determine hospital needs.
- Create and update clinical forms that comply with regulatory standards in conjunction with the compliance department.
- Plan, research, organize and carry out various nursing and hospital projects as tasked.
- Conduct research on nursing best practice and report findings to relevant hospital members.
- Propose and assist in drafting new policies, procedures, clinical forms and various projects.
- Edit and finalize new policies or amendments as required.
- Document processes and disseminate information to administration, education, and departments.
- Educate on existing and new policies and procedures as needed.
- Attend relevant meetings to determine the need for policy amendments and new policies, as well as hospital improvement projects.
- Constantly maintain confidential information.
- Strive to build relationships and work collaboratively with administration, managers, employees, and coworkers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to operate all standard office equipment.
