What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN NICU Part Time position at Mountain View Hospital?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at Mountain View Hospital. As a RN in the NICU, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care to our most vulnerable patients, premature and sick newborns.
In addition to providing around-the-clock care to these patients, you will offer support to the parents, with a focus on emotional encouragement and education. Our team supports each other like family and we are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.
Responsibilities:
- Perform life-sustaining care for newborns and pediatric patients in need.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide vital nutrients to patients.
- Keep, maintain and update records of the patients care to ensure that infants are breathing and maturing properly.
- Work closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.
- Educate parents on day-to-day operations/goals, treatment plans and at home care procedures.
- Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Neonate Resuscitate certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- STABLE certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse license.
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Previous Nursery or NICU experience preferred.
