Mountain West Truck Center is currently seeking a qualified individual to manage and supervise all phases of the Parts department operation, including personnel matters, purchasing supplies, customer relations, and parts sales to customers, at our St. George, Utah location
Job Description
The Parts Manager is directly responsible for the management, profitability and efficiency of the Parts Department. Which includes, but is not limited to, inventory control, purchasing procedures, merchandising, pricing, displaying and advertising.
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
- Hire, train motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all Parts Department staff.
- Work with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal and shop jobs.
- Direct and schedule the activities for all parts department employees.
- Conduct frequent department meetings, develop a strategy for a more efficient operation.
- Run and maintain inventory, turns, obsolescence.
- Handle customer complaints immediately and according to the dealerships guidelines.
- Monitor and adjust inventory as necessary. Report on a regular basis to upper management successes, failures and departmental needs.
- Control costs and create growth within the department.
- Establish and enforce a pricing policy that balances volume, customer loyalty and the cost of doing business.
- Build relationships with customers.
- Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with all vendors.
- Organize and maintain a showroom, warehouse and overall department.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma (College degree preferred but not required), or comparable on the job experience.
Experience:
Parts experience required; Heavy Duty experience, and Supervisor/manager experience is preferred
Skills:
Professional and clean personal appearance. Proven Leadership skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills. Well organized. Professional, and safety minded, at all times. Good customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Physical:
Standing, walking, bending, and stretching are required regularly to perform truck inspections, repair functions, and every day job duties. Manual dexterity to handle a variety of parts, and the ability to move 25 pounds, are regularly required. Vision must be sufficient to inspect parts for inventory counts and adjustments.
