Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Acquisitions and Development Associate to join our team. This role will involve identifying promising acquisition opportunities, negotiating favorable terms, supporting the President of Acquisitions and Development, and managing key metrics and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will be skilled in navigating local government regulations and building relationships with county officials while ensuring the smooth execution of all acquisition and development tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal Sourcing and Analysis:
- Research and identify potential land acquisition opportunities that align with the company’s investment and development goals.
- Conduct thorough market analysis, feasibility studies, and financial modeling to evaluate potential deals.
- Negotiation and Execution:
- Negotiate purchase agreements, contracts, and terms to ensure favorable outcomes.
- Coordinate due diligence processes, including surveys, environmental studies, and title reviews.
- Support to Leadership:
- Assist the President of Acquisitions and Development with strategic planning and execution of acquisition and development projects.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to update leadership on acquisition progress and performance metrics.
- Metrics and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain tracking systems for acquisitions, development activities, and inventory pipeline.
- Provide regular updates and insights on project timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Regulatory Navigation:
- Research and interpret county development rules, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with county officials to facilitate project approvals and compliance.
- Relationship Management:
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, consultants, contractors, and local government representatives.
- Represent the company at industry events and meetings to enhance its presence and network.
- Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Assist with other duties related to acquisitions and development as needed, including administrative support and special projects.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in land acquisition, development, real estate investment, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and market analysis.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Familiarity with zoning, permitting, and county development processes.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
