JOB TITLE: High School Principal                            

EMPLOYMENT TERM: 12 Months 

SUPERVISOR: Superintendent  

CLASSIFICATION: Administrative

 

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee job-embedded professional development and support for teachers and staff, including staff evaluations.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of proper public relations in order to further build community understanding and support of the school’s programs.
  • Maintain a close and constant relationship with the community and interpret the educational program to all district stakeholders.
  • Implement systems and administrative routines for critical operations to support instruction, and promote emotional and physical safety of students and staff.
  • Ensure vision and mission promotes high student achievement and college and career readiness.
  • Implement systems to formally and informally acknowledge and celebrate individual and team academic success.
  • Collect and analyze student data to support student achievement goals.
  • Collect and analyze teacher data to provide individualized support on teacher goals in accordance with the Leading Observation Instrument.
  • Write goals for teacher role; support educators in writing goals and Educator Goal Plans.
  • Oversee student needs analysis used to identify achievement strengths and high-priority areas for improving student learning.
  • Support instructional planning by leveraging research-based practices.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of district curriculum programs.
  • Facilitate and provide support for Professional Learning Communities, members of the leadership team, and in community and stakeholder meetings.
  • Be present at all board meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
  • Three years of high school teaching experience.
  • Current Arizona teaching certificate.
  • Current Administrative certificate.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive high school teaching experience.
  • High school Administrator experience.
  • Endorsement or extensive course work in multiple content areas.
  • Instructional coaching experience.
  • Counseling experience and certificate.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud and can vary in temperature. The nature of this position is fast-paced and may occasionally be thought of as stressful. Through interaction with the public and other district employees, the employee may encounter different scents.

Salary : $60,000 - $95,000
