Primary Purpose
Executes on safety and health programs for all facilities, i.e., the Plant, Waste Water, Transportation, Rendering, Administration, etc. Promotes the safety culture to drive employee safety and continuous improvement to prevent injuries and accidents by applying knowledge of industrial processes, mechanics, chemistry and industrial health and safety laws. 1st Shift 7:30am - 4:30pm
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducts safety inspections, documents findings and implements corrective actions. Communicates findings and action plans to facility managers and directors. Completes internal reports as required (daily operating reports (DOR's), monthly operating reports (MOR's), etc.).
- Executes on safety and health programs. Conducts site compliance visits for facilities under areas of responsibility (Plant, Waste Water, Transportation, Rendering, Administration, etc.) to ensure employee safety, compliance and to achieve company goals. Supports the Safety & Health Manager with maintaining records, recommending corrective actions, updating inspections and site visits.
- Works with internal customers to provide direction and support on compliance programs and continuous improvement. Facilitates Goal Zero programs. Conducts and creates awareness and recognition activities. Attends safety and environmental continued education and specialized training. Facilitates Goal Zero actions. Ensures training on OSHA regulations, as well as company policies are completed as required. Submits all required regulatory reporting.
- Assists the manager in performing job task analyses, determines employee exposure and institutes safe work procedures. Maintains records and reports of analyses and corrective actions. Alternates for the Accident Review Board.
- Assists the manager in conducting and creating awareness and recognition activities to promote the safety culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety/Environmental Science or equivalent work experience.
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification required.
- 0 - 3 years' health and safety experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated computer skills.
