Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage multiple software engineers responsible for cloud engineering and integration application areas and other 3rd party applications supporting supply chain and financial services areas.
  • Design, develop, test, implement and document scalable digital applications.
  • Manage the development and deployment of all new projects
  • Ensure the quality of all production deployments with no critical post production issues.
  • Manage application support and operations of all Digital applications to support day to day business operations. Ensure all defined SLAs are achieved
  • Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Lead pre and post testing phases of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations.
  • Ensure that development projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
  • Ensure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Collaborate with product management, end users and IT operations in the testing of new software programs and applications.
  • Manage and provide direction for the application development team in support of business operations.
  • Identify and resolve program errors for break/fix for assigned applications.
  • Design, develop, and install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.
  • Recruit, inspire, and coordinate staff required for the achievement of the digital systems Technology initiatives
  • Work with staff members to develop software changes required to support development efforts and continued production software operations
  • Build and maintain systems in a way that ensures compliance with certification, regulatory standards, and a technology-based information security program
  • Ensure teams follow best practices regarding coding standards, code reviews, and testing (including unit, integration, and system test)
  • Partner with architects to ensure developed solutions adhere to established best patterns and our architectural target state
  • Provide technical thought leadership towards solving problems for the team
  • Collaborate with other technologists on creating cross-domain solutions
  • Track progress of development projects and take appropriate actions to assure delivery schedules are met.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate strong partnership with business and other IT organizations a must.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills in writing and verbal a must.
  • 5 years of working experience in Middleware and Integration Technology space, working within a fast-paced and fast-evolving environment.
  • Deep understanding of Agile development methodology.
  • Experience leading a technology development team.
  • Must have strong technical skills, ideally from a hands-on engineering background.
  • Demonstrated experience in broad enterprise technologies as well as experience working in a large database operation environment.
  • Experience in service management practices and processes within a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience in supporting scalable architectures and supporting network protocols.
  • Experience with persisting data in one or more Relational and NoSQL DB technologies such as MS SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchDB or Postgres;
  • Experience with API gateways and authentication technologies, such as OAuth2 and SAML;
  • Experience building service-oriented architectures and proficiency with distributed systems built on the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus;
  • Experience building large-scale web services, micro-services based applications in the cloud environment is a plus;
  • Passion for security and a strong understanding of threats, vulnerabilities and compliance standards;
  • Deep understanding of Agile development methodology.
  • Experience in leading a technology development and support teams.
  • Must have strong technical skills, ideally from a hands-on engineering background.
  • Experience in service management practices and processes within a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience in supporting scalable architectures and supporting network protocols.
  • Passion for security and a strong understanding of threats, vulnerabilities and compliance standards;
  • Experience participating and leading code reviews, refactoring, gathering code quality metrics and measurements;
  • Fluency with modern DevOps automation toolchains, and modern containerization, orchestration, and virtualization technologies;
  • Experience using source control tools Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and/or Github is a plus, but not required.
