About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function for our 900-employee manufacturing facility. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving HR strategy, fostering a strong company culture, and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. As a trusted business partner, the HR Manager will work closely with leadership, union representatives, and employees to create a positive and productive workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the HR department, overseeing all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
- Serve as the primary liaison for union relations, managing labor negotiations, contract administration, and conflict resolution.
- Partner with plant leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals.
- Act as a safety advocate, working with EH&S teams to promote a culture of workplace safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
- Provide coaching and leadership development to managers and supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Oversee employee training and development programs to drive skill-building and career growth.
- Lead workforce planning and retention strategies to support business continuity and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, including labor relations and contract negotiations.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of driving positive culture change and employee engagement.
- Expertise in employment law, HR best practices, and safety compliance.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
