JOB SUMMARY

The Adult Instructor for Programs is a passionate, motivated individual who loves to work with and teach people of all ages, provides a great customer experience, and has a desire to grow in the climbing community. It may also include teaching adult introductory bouldering or technique skill classes, all while managing risks for participants during our various programs. The programs include Intro classes, technique classes, coaching Peak Performance Team, and other programs as needed. Part-time instructors are primarily working with adults for 2-4 hours per class, depending on the program. At least some prior climbing experience is required, but we are excited to help individuals who are excited to learn, grow as climbers and instructors!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Facilitate transformative climbing experiences while managing risks for participants and the community at large.

· Communicate effectively with clients of all ages and abilities while demonstrating empathy and compassion.

· Provide excellent customer service for all guests by seeking answers and solutions for customer questions.

· Teach climbing skills from provided curriculums and create inclusive spaces that foster a sense of belonging.

· Communicate clearly and respectfully with co-workers and supervisors about feedback and concerns.

· Speak open and honestly; asking for help when needed and look to learn from mistakes.

· Develop skills to effectively communicate with others and listen to other perspectives to build partnerships.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Have a passion for climbing, yoga, or fitness, or an interest in engaging with our community, and show a growth mindset through a willingness to learn and a sense of curiosity.

· Demonstrate an openness to learn from others and collaborate to achieve common goals.

· Interest in working with both children and adults to support others having transformative, purpose-driven experiences.

· Have a relentlessly positive and upbeat attitude to inspire others to live life intentionally and strive for personal bests.

· Prior climbing experience required and prior experience instructing on any topic preferred.

· Ability to work 6-10 hours per week primarily on weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends.

· Willingness to work or sub for youth programs (summer camp, after school programs, etc.) is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

· This is a part time position

· Starting at $19.00/hr with flexibility based on experience
