JOB SUMMARY
The Social Media Coordinator oversees and fulfills marketing needs, including social media, content updates, and community outreach initiatives at Movement Valhalla. This role is also part of a team that serves as the liaison between the gym and the marketing team, ensuring a strong blend of operational communications, brand awareness, and grassroots marketing efforts to support our goals and values. This role is expected to work 10-15 hours per week, depending on business needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and executes content plan for the gym.
- Helps identify and implement opportunities to generate leads, build brand awareness, and drive growth and engagement through content, social media platforms, and grassroots marketing efforts.
- Manages social calendars, including content creation, scheduling, posting, and copywriting.
- Conceptualizes storytelling and posts creative content to Instagram/Facebook (posts stories) 3-5x per week.
- Creates content for TikTok 1-2x per month.
- Engages with the community by managing social interactions, including moderating/responding to comments and direct messages (TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook).
- Shares relevant community posts.
- Collaborates with department heads to post content related to routesetting, clinics, instruction updates, retail features, setting schedules, instruction schedules, weekly boulder, etc.
- Conducts local influencer outreach via Instagram DM and other avenues to engage and invite them to the gym.
- Captures photos and video content as needed for social platforms, with additional content available in Bynder.
- Escalates negative comments or posts to the Marketing Manager (from posts, inbox, or group) in a timely manner.
- Continuously brainstorms and innovates new ideas within the social space.
- Responsible for developing and executing the gym’s overall marketing plan in collaboration with the regional marketing manager.
- Develops and participates in community outreach efforts, fostering local partnerships and engagement.
- Serves as the liaison between gym operations and the marketing team.
- Manages multiple projects and communicates progress using project management software.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 1 years marketing experience
- Must have strong organizational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail
- Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, make decisions, and meet deadlines
- Adaptable, resourceful, and able to succeed in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team
- Solid computer skills (web-based applications, word, excel, social media platforms, etc.)
- Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing
- Skilled at writing and proofing in several different communication formats
- Understand of basic photography and videography skills using a phone
- Experience with Asana or other project management software
- Knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a part-time hybrid position that requires weekly travel to the Valhalla gym 1-2 times per week or more as needed (including attending/capturing content for events). The role will collaborate with a remote marketing team and work closely with the local operations team. The pay range for this position starts at $25/hour.
