Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our remanufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the plant’s operations, including production, staffing, quality control, safety, and cost management, with a focus on continuous improvement. This leadership role requires a strong background in manufacturing, leadership, and operational efficiency, specifically in the remanufacturing or automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership:
Lead and manage all day-to-day activities of the plant to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of remanufactured transmissions. Oversee all departments, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics. - Production Planning and Scheduling:
Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization, labor, and machine capacity. - Staff Management:
Supervise and lead a team of production employees, including supervisors and operators. Ensure proper staffing levels, provide leadership and coaching, and conduct performance evaluations. Foster a positive and safe working environment. - Process Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement efforts through lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other best practices to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. - Budgeting and Cost Management:
Oversee the plant’s budget and ensure that operations stay within financial targets. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track cost-effectiveness, operational efficiency, and profitability. - Quality Control and Compliance:
Ensure that remanufactured products meet the company’s quality standards and comply with all relevant regulations and safety standards. Implement effective quality control processes and ensure all employees adhere to company protocols. - Safety and Environmental Compliance:
Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and ensure that all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to. Lead initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. - Vendor and Supplier Relations:
Manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors, ensuring the timely delivery of parts and materials needed for production. - Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on plant performance, including production metrics, safety, staffing, and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management or operations leadership, ideally in a remanufacturing, automotive, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality control practices.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with budget management and cost optimization.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in using ERP systems and other relevant software tools.

- Ability to work in a plant environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or on-call as needed to meet production deadlines.
