Job Description:
A Quality Control Specialist is required to support transmission line and substation projects in Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting projects, coordinating with construction crews on quality assurance and control, and adhering to PPC and MP Systems, Inc.'s mission and vision statements.
- On-Site Project Management: As part of the on-site project management team, the Quality Control Specialist will focus on quality and ensure compliance with project engineering plans and permits during inspections within customer territory.
- Project Meetings: The specialist will attend project-related meetings such as pre-construction walk throughs, safety discussions, outage planning with internal crews, subcontractor crews, and clients.
- Daily Reporting and Documentation: Assist with daily job reporting, field verification, job books, document control, and QA/QC documentation.
- Performance Metrics: Update and track key performance metrics to optimize performance and productivity, reducing costs.
- Project Drawings: Catalog, update, and maintain project drawings, including as-builts, to prepare turnover packages for clients.
- Mobility and Mapping: Utilize mobile GIS programs for mapping features and logging inspection points.
- Sag Validation Audits: Complete Sag Validation Audits and documentation to confirm installation meets specifications.
- Inspection Reports: Complete inspection reports and communicate action items to the project team.
- Subcontractor Support: Assist with subcontractor orientation, operations, and audits.
Qualifications:
- Teamwork and Flexibility: A self-motivated individual with a passion for hands-on work in outdoor environments is required, with the ability to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
- Education: High school education and two or four-year degree required; preferred degrees include construction management, engineering, environmental, project management, and/or safety.
- Independence and Time Management: Must be able to work independently, be flexible with daily work hours (including occasional early mornings), work on multiple jobs simultaneously, and fulfill all job requirements within a timely fashion.
- Safe Driving Record: Safe driving record and habits are essential due to significant driving involved in this position.
- Customer Service Orientation: Be highly customer-service oriented and have a positive safety attitude and personal integrity, both non-negotiable qualities.
