Job Description:
We are seeking for a Banquet Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Eau Palm Beach team, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional service to our guests, upholding the standards of our Forbes Five-Star resort. The right candidate is someone that is able to provide leadership and direction prior to and during banquets and events with attention to detail to ensure successful event execution. The Banquet Manager oversees the daily activities of the Banquet Department and staff while acting as a liaison for the banquet department between Sales, Event planning, Event Services, Audio Visual, and the Banquet Culinary team to maintain open lines of communication to provide guests the highest levels of service.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcohol beverages.
- 3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity. Luxury market experience a recommended not required.
- Food Handling Certificate and ServSafe within three (3) months of employment
- Knowledge of various drink recipes and beverage service standards.
- Ability to communicate in English to the understanding of hoteliers, Management, co-workers and guests.
- Ability to provide legible communication.
- Ability to do basic mathematical calculations.
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of event standards, practices, and procedures as well as food and beverage products, services, and equipment.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people.
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of budgetary principles and practices.
- Knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of modern filing and recordkeeping practices and procedures.
- Computer proficiency with standard software, especially hotel systems and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to understand guests' service needs.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assign, delegate work.
- Ability to direct performance of staff and follow-up with corrections where needed
- Ability to motivate staff and maintain cohesive team
- Ability to ascertain training needs and provide such training.
- Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.
- Ability to focus attention on details
- Ability to suggestively sell menu items, beverages and wines
- Ability to input and access information into SalesForce, HotSOS, Opera, Adaco and Micros system
- Ability to exert physical effort in transporting equipment and wares
- Ability to ensure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.
- Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guest and hotel information.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
