Description

MPD, Inc. is an employee-owned company that designs and manufactures electronic components and equipment. MPD has multiple subsidiaries, including MPH Industries, Inc., CMI, Inc., and Lion Laboratories Limited. 

The warehouseman prepares paperwork, receives materials, packs and ships products, in all areas of warehousing activity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up, adjust, and lubricate all warehouse equipment, including but not limited to packing and branding equipment.
• Requisition supplies and follow-up on shop orders.
• Perform duties related to the removal or storage of materials, parts equipment, machinery or tools from or to warehouse.
• Count, identify, record, store items placed in or removed from warehouse.
• Monitor the serviceability of all warehouse equipment/machinery.
• Operate forklift and other power assisted transporters.
• Responsible for maintaining dock area in warehouse, clean and orderly, and to monitor the safe operation of dock plates, wheel chocks, dock equipment, and commercial carriers that use this area for pickup or delivery.
• Process shipments through the shipping computer systems.
• Receive, pack, ship, or perform other related duties involving hazardous materials. This includes obtaining certification for shipping and receiving all hazardous goods we encounter. (BI-Yearly training and certification)
• Check orders as to types and quantities.
• Weigh and mark weights, number of packages, etc., on bills of lading.
• Weigh, zone, stamp, parcel post shipments.
• Make prefabricated containers, weigh, stencil weights and addresses, customer’s markings, and record this data on packing slip.
• See that each container checks with the order and packing list.
• Fill and pack customer orders with products received from the factory floor and other products, accessories and literature, from warehouse stocks.
• Verify against the customer order for completeness and correctness of shipments before release.
• Store and maintain inventories of packing material and product literature.
• Place materials in the proper locations by type, part number, or other designated index.
• Accumulate, kit, withdraw, disperse and deliver materials to the floor on a timely basis as required.
• Prepare paperwork, receive material, pack and ship products in all areas of warehousing activities.
• Possible training is needed for completing Government contracts, to meet special packing and shipping needs.
• File all sales order pick slips, shipping notices, correspondence and miscellaneous documents.
• Perform periodic and systematic audits via cycle counting system to verify the quantity balances; report results to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Very detail oriented and able to see tasks through to completion.
2. Heavy lifting required. Must be able to lift 55lbs frequently and be able to transport and position 55-gallon drums of various materials weighing up to 600lbs.
3. Possess good organizational skills, along with good oral and written skills. 
4.  The ability to learn and use the Epicor system.
5. Perform well under pressure. 
6. This position requires standing, stair climbing, lifting, stooping, bending and reaching motions.
7. Gloves and safety glasses required when handling hazardous material. 
8.  Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
