Maintenance Technician – Preventive Maintenance

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team at MPI Label Systems, a leading flexographic printing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on all equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and extend the lifespan of our assets. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preventive Maintenance:
• Follow a preventive maintenance schedule for all machinery, including flexographic printing presses, slitters, rewinders, laminators, and other related equipment.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to identify potential issues.
• Lubricate, adjust and replace parts as necessary to keep machinery running smoothly.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs:
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
• Perform timely repairs or coordinate with external service providers as needed to minimize production interruptions.
• Ensure all repairs are conducted in compliance with safety standards and company protocols.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts replacements.
• Report any recurring issues or concerns to the Maintenance Manager for further analysis and action.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasks.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
• Participate in safety training and ensure that all safety devices on equipment are functioning properly.
• Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program.
• Collaborate with the production team to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to maintenance in flexographic printing.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or printing environment, preferably with flexographic printing equipment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance related to industrial maintenance.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to chemicals.
