Job Overview
The Post Press Lead will oversee all post-press operations, ensuring that printed materials are finished to the highest standards. This role involves working with the finishing team, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all projects meet quality standards and deadlines. Responsibilities
- Post-Press Operations: Coordinate all post-press activities, including shrinking, cutting, folding, die-cutting, shrinkwrapping and other finishing processes.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of post-press operators.
- Quality Control: Ensure all finished products meet or exceed company quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and implement quality control measures to maintain high standards.
- Scheduling Workflow: Assist the Workflow Director to meet client deadlines.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of post-press materials, including binding supplies, adhesives, and other consumables. Order supplies as needed to prevent production delays.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in a related field (e.g., Graphic Communications, Printing Technology) is a plus.
- Experience: Experience in a printing shop or post-press operations is desired but not mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of post-press machinery and processes, including bindery, cutting, and finishing techniques. Proficiency in using post-press equipment. Basic computer knowledge required.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
