JOB SUMMARY:
Performs construction, fabrication, and installation at company and/or field locations. Operates company vehicles, trailers, construction, and other equipment to layout, prepare and fuse/join and pull various pipeline products. Can communicate with customers directly, interpret both verbal and written requests, and translate into construction or installation activities. Maintains understanding and certifications for a variety of products in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards. Works with additional contractors to deliver projects meeting customer needs. Performs on-call services for emergencies and repairs. Helps mitigate additional damage in emergency/repair situations using various shutoff methods including squeeze offs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Fabricates, fuses HDPE products using multiple approved methods and completes installation.
- Threads/glues/cures fiberglass products and completes installation.
- Performs make-up/glues/crimps composite products and completes installation.
- Make-up of other mechanical connections including tie-in to existing lines.
- Works with various other contractors (excavation, location, etc) to achieve customer targets.
- Read and understand drawings, plans, etc to translate into actual construction and installation activities.
- Communicates with supervisors and other Milford Team members for project needs.
- Maintains records of construction activities: project/task progress, materials used, etc.
- Effectively manages time and materials to minimize costs.
- Ability to work with minimal or remote supervision. Able to exercise sound judgement in modifying processes/plans to accomplish goals in a safe manner.
- Maintains relevant training and credentials according to Milford, product manufacturer and customer requirements.
- Transport equipment and materials to remote locations and sets up working environment in a safe manner.
- Perform duties in multiple pipeline construction arrangements (overhead, above-grade, lowering in, in-ditch) in oilfield, rural and city settings.
- Works with additional construction team members.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 months in a pipeline construction/fabrication role.
- Working knowledge of oilfield equipment/goods.
- Ability to multitask, operate in a fast paced environment and balance competing demands.
- Prioritizes work and follows through tasks to completion.
- Prior experience in multiple HDPE fusion methods. Ability to pass and maintain fusion tech certifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Experience operating various pieces of fusion equipment.
- Must complete and pass various Health, Safety and Environmental trainings and certifications including H2S.
- Safe motor vehicle operator of ½ & ¾ ton pickup trucks
- Ability to tow bumper-pull and gooseneck trailers; able to secure cargo
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to create daily progress reports
- Must pass background, motor vehicle history and drug screening.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
- Significant outdoor work time in a variety of weather conditions.
- Will frequently need to work in challenging working environment with exposure to hazardous substances.
- Must be able to climb onto raised trucks, trailers or platforms, and into below grade excavations.
- Must be able to wear required PPE as prescribed by Milford HSE.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
