What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asst to Chief of Police position at MPTN Government?
Under the direction of the Chief of Police, the incumbent performs varied and highly confidential administrative and department specific duties and responsibilities. This includes compiling reports requiring moderately complex data gathering and research initiatives, data for budget preparation, and monitoring expenses and reports variances. The incumbent is responsible for processing payroll and maintaining department files including those kept within a database application.
High school diploma or GED required. Five (5) years of administrative experience required (legal experience is a plus). Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and familiarity with PC database applications. Must be a notary public or be willing to become a notary public within three to six months of hire. Must possess a pleasant and professional demeanor and the ability to cultivate excellent working relationships within the department as well as other departments. Due to the exposure of highly confidential and sensitive information pertaining to law enforcement business, including the exposure to Tribal Children, applicant must undergo a thorough background investigation to include fingerprints sent to the FBI and pass a drug test.
