Accounts Payable and Payroll Clerk

Compensation $50,000-$80,000 based on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable and Payroll Clerk to join our team and support our financial operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Receiving, reviewing, and processing invoices from vendors for goods or services rendered
- Ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors while adhering to payment terms and schedules
- Communicating with vendors regarding invoices, payments, discrepancies, and establishing good working relationships
- Maintaining accurate records of all payable transactions, including invoices, payments, and expenses
- Assisting in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable, including expense reports and analyzes.
- Reconciling accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, and resolving any discrepancies
- Addressing inquiries from vendors regarding payments or invoices and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency in accounts payable processes, such as implementing automation or refining workflows.
- Collaborating with internal managers and cardholders to resolve issues and streamline payment processes.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting regulations
- Assisting with general administrative tasks within the accounting department, such as filing documents and organizing financial records.
- Assisting with month-end close reconciliations and procedures.
- Uploading transactions into QuickBooks using data entry, mapping, and manipulating data in Excel.
Payroll:
- Assisting with calculating and processing employee salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation based on attendance records and other relevant data.
- Assist entering and maintaining employee information, including hours worked, deductions, withholdings, and other payroll-related details accurately in the payroll system or software.
- Reviewing and verifying the accuracy of payroll data to ensure proper deductions, tax withholdings, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and employee files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
- Assisting in administering employee benefits related to payroll, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions or contributions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 1 year of accounts payable and payroll experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work effectively with vendors, employees, and internal departments.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
