Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Cashier / Cage includes, but is not limited to, exchanging cash and tickets for casino guests and make payouts to guests on winning wagers in accordance with established procedures. As well as provide excellent customer service for our customers. Cashier - Cage is required to balance their cashier drawer at the end of their shift. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the South Dakota Gaming Commission procedures.

Position Responsibilities:

· Arrive for shift on time and in proper uniform.

· Accept/exchange cash and tickets as presented in accordance with established procedures.

· Maintain a friendly and pleasant demeanor to both guests and coworkers.

· Using available resources, detects counterfeit money.

· Develop a working knowledge of any rules, regulations and Internal Controls applicable to your position.

· Complete all daily paperwork

· Provide superior customer service to all internal and external customers

· Adhere to and complies with both departmental and overall property policies and procedures.

· Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Employment Requirements:

• 21 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form
• Interpersonal skills with focused attention on guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
• Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Specific Position Requirements:

• Must be able to operate a computer and read data from a computer screen
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Able to prioritize and organize.
• Follow directions thoroughly.
• Works cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
• Works independently.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent casino data.
• Ability to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction
• Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
• Ability to work with others, communicate well, receive direction; review your own work.
• Ability to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.

Must have or be able to obtain a South Dakota Support Gaming License (background check, no felony convictions, no back child support or default student loans, and good credit in order to obtain). We will guide you through the application process.
