Casino security professionals have a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Ensuring the safety of guests and employees at their casino. They monitor activity on the floor, check for signs of suspicious behavior, and respond to emergencies as they arise.
- Ensuring that gaming activities are conducted in compliance with state laws and regulations by monitoring players to identify anyone who might be cheating or engaging in other forms of illegal activity
- Responding to incidents such as theft, violence, or vandalism by contacting law enforcement officials or using other security measures such as surveillance cameras, panic buttons, or security guards
- Monitoring activity on the casino floor to identify any potential criminal activity or security breaches
- Checking identification cards of guests who wish to enter the casino to ensure that they meet the minimum age requirement for gambling or entering a casino
- Intervening in situations where there are disturbances or disturbances are likely to occur to prevent injuries or property damage
