Your role in our success:
As an Estimator for Mathias Die you will be responsible for responding to customers estimating requests and contacting new & current customers to gather and organize their project specifications for estimating tooling and converting jobs. You will need to understand and evaluate the combination of material, labor and production specifications as inputs for providing estimates. You will also need to be confident in customer communication discussing their tooling and converting needs with a high level of courtesy and professionalism.
What you will do:
- Contact customers to gather project specifications for tooling and converting estimates.
- Organize and evaluate customer project specifications, materials used, with labor requirements, and production guidelines as inputs for providing customer estimates.
- Utilize estimator models and follow established pricing guidelines for producing customer estimates.
- Utilize ERP software to finalize customer estimates, and to maintain and update customer pricing information, customer notes, and specification data.
- Embrace company ISO quality objectives and ensure processes are followed.
- Determine best value for necessary tooling and converting materials needed to meet the customers’ requirements using approved vendor sources.
- Evaluate materials, labor, and production guidelines as inputs for price verification and invoicing completed orders.
- Assist engineering and production teams with known project information when new converting estimates become orders.
- Support Orders Department with price verification.
- Crosstrain estimating team members on tooling estimates, converting estimates, and coordinating converting projects to ensure all job functions are supported.
- Update cost and price model information based on project requirements.
- Perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Qualifications
- Two years associate degree in business or a technical field, or three years’ experience in a related position.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of courtesy and professionalism.
- Customer oriented with a focus on supporting customers with their projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within a customer’s organization.
- Ability to communicate internally on customer tooling and converting requirements
- Ability to read and interpret engineered prints.
- Well organized and self-motivated.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently to make decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Team player with the ability to work well with all levels of our organization.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment.
Salary: $55,000 to $70,000 annually
