We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Examiner to conduct comprehensive assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review medical records electronically through our secure web portal and perform in-depth, in-person physical examinations on each Veteran.
- Document exam findings accurately and thoroughly via the web portal.
Important Considerations:
- The Medical Examiner does not make disability determinations; all such decisions are made by the United States Veterans Administration.
- This role is limited to conducting Disability Assessments only on Veterans and does not involve treatment or medication prescription.
The position typically involves conducting 3-5 Disability Assessments per day, Monday through Friday (8am-4pm), in an in-person setting. Successful candidates will be able to analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete questionnaires and form medical opinions, demonstrating strong time management and analytical skills.
Requirements:
- Interest in performing independent medical assessments with high accuracy.
- Ability to analyze complex data from medical records and exam findings.
- Strong time management and analytical skills to meet deadlines.
- Current and unrestricted Medical Examiner license.
- Proficient in computer use and electronic medical record systems.
