MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company is searching for an Aeroshell Materials Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the redesign of heatshield Avcoat blocks and lead the delta qualification program planning and execution. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to NASA's Orion spacecraft.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the redesign of heatshield Avcoat blocks and oversee the planning and execution of the delta qualification program.
- Provide expertise on ablative materials, including Avcoat.
- Conduct Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) techniques and contribute to the development of material allowable tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
Required Skills:
- Advanced degree in Engineering or a related field and 25 years of experience
- Experience with Avcoat or other ablative materials.
- Proficiency in NDE evaluation techniques and capabilities.
- Experience in material allowable test planning and execution.
Desired Skills:
- Experience developing and executing probability of detection test plans.
- Previous experience working with NASA programs.
- Hands-on experience with bonding materials, processes, and techniques.
