MRI, a woman-owned Technologies and Engineering Services company, has an exciting opportunity for a System Engineering Team Lead for Orion Camera to join the team on the JETS II Contract at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA's pursuits in deep space exploration.
As a System Engineering Team Lead for Orion Camera you will:
- Mange the SE activities of the Orion Camera
- Support engineering flight project schedule, procurement documentation, budget and system requirements documents - Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering
- Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities
- Work with requirements to align with hardware specifications while understanding the verifications
- Perform system engineering functions of projects and provide user input feedback during the design process
- Work with ground testing and flight operations testing of hardware with end item documentation
- Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements
- Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews
- Participate and contribute to support the development of Orion Con-Ops.
- Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance
- Participate in test, verification, and operation of the as-built hardware
- Work with team members and leads to identify risks, develop risk statements, and plan risk responses
- Work and present schedule and progress to customers
- Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Perform other duties as required
Requisition Preferences:
- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering and normally possess 5 - 10 years of related experience in Systems Engineering
- Knowledge of SE & I processing, methodologies, tools and technologies including model based systems engineering
- Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection
- Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
- Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
- Experience working in a team environment
Proof of US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a US government background investigation.

Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
