Industrial Mechanic / Top-Mechanic / Millwright - Sugar Refinery in Montana
Position Overview:
A prominent sugar refinery in south-central Montana, specializing in refined beet sugar manufacturing and distribution, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic / Millwright for immediate full-time employment. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment across the facility.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate leadership in safety practices to achieve a zero-injury workplace.
- Ensure regular attendance.
- Maintain process and packaging equipment, including pumps, conveyors, fans, and bearings.
- Perform welding, cutting, brazing, and pipefitting tasks.
- Safely utilize hand and power tools, applying them correctly.
- Provide emergency coverage, handle colleague call-ins, and manage vacation coverage.
Skills & Experience Requirements:
- Preferably hold a two-year technical degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in maintenance and mechanical work involving process and packaging equipment.
- Basic knowledge of rigging, sling harness lifting, lubrication, carpentry, and concrete forming.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and in all weather conditions.
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations (angles, decimal dimensions).
- Capability to read and comprehend technical manuals and blueprints.
- Familiarity with vibration equipment, laser alignment, and oil analysis.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the maintenance area.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation.
- Proficiency in computer usage.
- Effective time management and ability to remain focused under pressure.
- Proven troubleshooting ability.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of sugar factory processes is advantageous.
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $26.54 to $36.99 per hour, with benefits.
