Job Overview
The Corn Cook Operator at Mrs Rios Corn Products is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of corn product through the production process. This role involves monitoring and adjusting machine settings, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to company policies and procedures. The position requires attention to detail and effective communication with team members to ensure product quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to ensure continuous product flow through the production process.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings as needed.
• Notify supervisor of any maintenance requirements for machines.
• Follow all production schedules and procedures.
• Adhere to plant GMP, HACCP, and Safety policies.
• Fill out all cooking and grinding documentation correctly.
• Monitor the corn cooking process for correct times and temperatures.
• Document all lot numbers, cook times, and temperatures.
• Monitor the grinding of corn into masa and transfer to the sheeter.
• Check masa for proper texture and moisture levels.
• Communicate with the Sheeter Operator to produce tortillas that meet specifications.
• Adjust masa as necessary to ensure product quality.
• Notify supervisor of any observed problems or issues.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area by keeping debris off the floor.
• Read explicit simple instructions and complete required paperwork.
• Wear safety equipment and follow GMPs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Machine Operator in the food industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with CGMP standards and FDA regulations is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues effectively.
• Experience working in a food processing plant is an advantage.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 per hour
