Service Advisor/Writer - Hourly PLUS Commission

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between clients and our service department. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, sales skills, and a solid understanding of automotive repair processes. The Service Writer will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction while effectively managing service orders.

Duties

• Greet customers and assess their service needs, providing exceptional customer service throughout their experience.
• Document customer concerns and relay accurate information to the mechanics regarding required services such as oil changes, brake repairs, and engine repairs.
• Prepare work orders and ensure that all necessary parts and services are aligned with customer requests.
• Maintain clear communication with customers regarding the status of their vehicles, including updates on repairs and estimated completion times.
• Process transactions efficiently and accurately, ensuring all services rendered are properly documented.
• Assist in sales efforts by promoting additional services or products that may benefit the customer’s vehicle performance or safety.
• Collaborate with mechanics to transmit information about repairs needed and ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the service area.

Experience

• Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar role within an automotive dealership is preferred.
• Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with automotive repair processes, including oil changes, brake repairs, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in using computer systems for order entry and management.
• A passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to providing exceptional service to customers.

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
