BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY :
The QA Technician fulfills the role of quality assurance within the CCSG CFC’s
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts statistical sampling of Warehouse processes to monitor effectiveness of Quality systems.
- Reports findings and makes recommendations to management for error reduction. Alerts management when indicators point to loss of process control.
- Recommends corrective and preventative action to eliminate root cause.
- Process surveillance includes but is not limited to : Outbound packages, Bin integrity, Picking error levels, Inbound totes, receiving process, etc.
- Verifies products using item numbers, descriptions, quantity and reference tools while visually inspecting boxes for damage or improper packaging, when conducting stock checks.
- Performs stock checks and follow through to disposition of nonconforming product.
- Inspects products for damage and ensures product specifications and inspects pick locations.
- Identifies items using visual inspections, reference manuals or measuring instruments.
- Counts items.
- Researches and communicates cross-functionally with MSC departments to resolve discrepancies.
- Assists in returns area identifying incorrect items and taking action to correct inventory, catalogs and assist category management in ordering and advertisement of items.
- Handles Return to Vendor issues in Credits and Returns area, for defective items.
- Assists sales with customer’s technical questions by phone conference on equipment and / or tool applications.
- Supports the Safety Culture by following established SOP’s.
- Engages in the local Safety Culture through safety team support and offering safety suggestions.
- Assists department supervisors in identifying risk to associates or the business and mitigate those risks.
- Assists Inventory Management with bin audits. May provide help with additional technical questions of customers by testing or gauging item on replacement orders or contact customer for assisting with application.
- Communicates with all levels of management in the CFC and Sales to ensure quality of products and services provided.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission.
- Operates materials handling equipment as necessary. (ie., turret truck and / or order picker).
- Calculates productivity or error rate using warehouse computer systems, PC systems, or manual calculation.
- Assists department supervisor with productivity enhancements, performance monitoring, and SOP updates.
- In order to meet customer service requirements, associates can be temporarily re-assigned to other warehouse functions.
- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required

Compensation starting at $34,580 to $49,400 depending on experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
