MSC s internship program is a rewarding and challenging development program for talented, high performing students. Interns are assigned to a functional area for a 10-week assignment. Each assignment will offer the opportunity for the students to work on defined projects, develop leadership skills and interact with associates across all levels of the organization.

DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.
- Analyze financial statements for innovative and improvement opportunities.
- Complete budget and forecast solicitation and analysis, owning certain areas of the company.
- Conducts business and financial analysis to identify strategic performance opportunities.
- Performs measurement of investment benefits relative to financial commitments.
- Collaborates with finance team associates to develop presentations including financial plans, company projects and initiatives.
- Assist with tracking and reporting of monthly physical inventory.
- Provide business assistance to various groups within the Finance group where requested.
- Prepares account reconciliations.
- Post journal entries as requested.
- Plan, execute, and complete special projects as assigned.
- Develops skills needed for career in industrial distribution and/or information technology.
- Supports assigned manager with project work.
- Presents intern project results to business leaders.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC s vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma required.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Excellent academic record.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is required.
- Excellent analytical and data manipulation skills are required.
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management is required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills required.
- Positive, high-energy approach to assignments and a willingness to learn quickly required.
- A valid driver s license is required.
