What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP Tourism, Group Sales, & Premium Hospitality position at MSG Sphere?

Role Summary: The Vice President of Tourism, Group Tickets, and Premium Hospitality will report to the SVP, Sales & Partnerships. They will be responsible for effectively managing and driving revenue derived from Tourism partnerships, Group Ticket Sales, and Premium Hospitality for MSG Sphere. Premium hospitality includes suite leases, event rentals, and premium seating. It also includes packages that include Tao Hospitality. This individual will partner with the sales, marketing, and finance teams to execute strategies and strike global and local partnerships that maximize revenue and optimize yield. They will also assist the SVP with liability management to ensure inventory maximization and deal fulfillment. This person will build and manage the yearly group ticket sales and hospitality rate card and adjust dynamically based on market needs. The position will also build and improve reports and logistics in order to closely monitor key financial metrics. It is imperative for this individual to establish and maintain strong communications and relationships with internal departments within MSG as well as external partners, both in Las Vegas and with national tourism agencies. Specific Functions/Activities Summary:
  • Create strategic sales plans for Sphere, focused on maximizing group sales ticket & premium efforts
  • Establish and communicate clear sales revenue goals to a team of Account Executives & Coordinators
  • Developing targeted lists of partners that align with tourism trends & forecasts; translate ticket and hospitality revenue goals into actionable strategies that can be executed across partner platforms
  • Develop bundled pricing strategies and packages across Sphere portfolio; adjust to optimize yield and STR
  • Build and maintain close relationships with the Las Vegas tourism industry, focusing on our key markets – tour operators, travel agencies, OTAs, meeting & incentive planners, incoming conference organizers, DMO’s, concierge groups, attractions, etc. Seek out and develop opportunities for us to partner with them to broaden our appeal and product offerings. Negotiate and maintain commercial contracts, establish sales reporting structure to manage performance/delivery.
  • Identifying, developing and maintaining high-level relationships with key personnel at partner organizations (internal & external) to focus on long-term, big-picture strategies, leveraging the Sphere portfolio of products
  • Maxime added value and cross-promotional opportunities from partner deals, with a local Vegas focus
  • Advise the P&L owners on how they need to operate to effectively distribute through tourism channels; Work with a range of internal teams to ensure that we are fully optimized for the tourism market.
  • Work with product managers to help them make our experience more tourism friendly.
  • In partnership with marketing, be responsible for producing all tourism focused messaging and collateral. Work with internal teams to devise, concept and execute.
  • Assess, scope, and develop Sphere inventory management dashboards and systems to operate the business; test system enhancements for business functionality, partner with Business Intelligence to iterate on strategy
Qualifications:
  • 15 years of relevant Ticket, Group, or Premium Hospitality Sales experience in a world-class organization
  • Proven track record of striking win-win partnerships alongside inventory yield
  • Proven ability to manage ever-changing needs at a fast-paced company and delivery key results
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Highly organized and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Stress tolerance-solution based thinking
  • Ability to establish effective interdepartmental relations
  • Ability to establish relationships with business partners including sponsors, vendors & media partners
  • Deep knowledge of Ad Sales/Marketing Partnerships
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Wide Orbit, CRM & knowledge of automated environments
