Education
If teaching one content area
- K-8 Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours in education courses or valid Texas state certificate; technology proficiency; proficiency in areas of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and Internet use for educational purposes and multimedia presentations
- Grades 6-8 Bachelor’s degree in content area taught or Bachelor’s degree with 18 credit hours in content area taught or Bachelor’s degree with successful completion of Texas state certificate; technology proficiency; proficiency in areas of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and Internet use for educational purposes and multimedia presentations
If teaching more than one content area
- Bachelor’s degree with 18 credit hours in at least one content area taught and 9 credit hours in each additional content area taught
OR
- Bachelor’s degree with successful completion of Texas state certification exam and 9 credit hours in each additional content area taught
- 12 credit hours in education courses or a valid, Texas state certificate
- Technology proficiency
- Proficiency in areas of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and Internet use of educational purposes and multimedia presentations
- Grades 9-12 Bachelor’s degree in content area taught (excluding Technology and Religion/Theology) with 12 credit hours in education courses or valid Texas state certificate; 12 credit hours in each additional content area taught or successful completion of appropriate Texas certification exam
OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours in education courses or valid Texas state certificate;
- 24 credit hours in the primary content taught or at least one content area taught or successful completion of Texas state certification exam

- Technology proficiency

TEXAS CATHOLIC CONFERENCE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY
The classroom teacher must demonstrate proficiency in the areas of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet use for educational purposes and multimedia presentations. Documentation can take the form of college level course or workshop verification, certificate from the ESC or a private company, letter of verification of proficiency from school administrator, and verification of successful completion of appropriate Certification Exam.
