We are currently seeking a Director of Professional Services to serve in a critical leadership role in our small, dynamic firm. Strong candidates will possess a unique combination of strategic leadership, hands-on expertise, emotional intelligence, and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team. This role demands someone who can operate at a high level of strategy while also diving into the details of project execution when necessary.

The Director of Professional Services will oversee a team of consultants and ensure alignment with our company's core values, fostering collaboration, excellence, and innovation. This person must have a strong consulting background, coupled with the ability to navigate varying personalities, from seasoned professionals to those early in their careers.

Our Director of Professional Services Gets To :

Oversee the successful execution of all client engagements.

  • Ensure the successful delivery of consulting projects, meeting client expectations on quality, timeline, and budget.
  • Monitor and optimize team resource allocation and project staffing.

Build and maintain executive level client relationships.

  • Act as a point of escalation for complex client challenges and internal issues, providing clear resolutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
  • Drive revenue and profitability

  • Optimize revenue from existing and previous clients
  • Work with Senior Consulting Managers and client executives to identify up selling and cross selling opportunities that will provide additional value to clients
  • Leverage strong executive level client relationships to drive referrals
  • Support business development efforts (e.g. proposal development, prospect meetings, etc.)
  • Leverage professional networking for lead generation
  • Build a strong consulting team

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Professional Services department, ensuring alignment with the company's mission and core values.
  • Create and maintain a culture of innovation and continuous improvement to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of MSSBTA service delivery
  • Identify and implement process optimizations across consulting and operational workflows.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies and tools used by the consulting team.
  • Hire, develop and retain consulting talent.
  • Acquire and successfully manage contract consultants as necessary.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of consultants, fostering professional growth and maintaining high morale.
  • Address and mediate interpersonal challenges, ensuring team cohesion and alignment with company values.
  • Implement effective performance management practices, including regular feedback and development plans.
  • Be visible as a representative of MSSBTA in the market and community.

    Play an active leadership role within the Delivery team, MSSBTA and as part of the leadership Team.

  • Lead by example, demonstrating and recognizing behaviors that align with MSSBTA's core values.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments to drive organizational goals, business development, and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • What We Look For :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
  • 10 years leadership experience in a professional services or similar environment.
  • Self-directed and resourceful, able to resolve complex issues independently.
  • Strong ability to manage diverse personalities, from high-achieving individuals to those early in their careers.
  • High EQ, with excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to view challenges from a leadership perspective while maintaining hands-on execution capabilities.
  • A team player who fosters a collaborative and motivating environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aligned with the company's core values.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • 5 years in a consulting role (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Digital Modernization, Performance Optimization, IT Advisory, Information as an Asset, AI solutions, and Strategic Planning related domains (preferred)
