Mt. Hood Skibowl has a unique opportunity for a self-starting, skilled, industrial sewing machine operator. Bring your creative passion to the mountain for a hands-on position running our industrial sewing machines. This position is in a stress-free, low-key work environment located in the beautiful Skibowl West base area.

In this position, you will utilize your expertise in running our industrial machines while making high-quality snow sports accessories, such as our tower pads, tube hill covers, chair covers, and repairing any damages from weather exposure.

Skibowl has taken the time and has acquired quality equipment with multiple upgrades, patterns, automatic processes, and much more to make this position as comfortable as possible.

This position currently is vacant and will need an individual with previous experience in running our current equipment.

Essential functions:

• Safely learn and negotiate sewing machines, parts, patterns, needles, presser pads/feet, automatic accessories, and cutting tools.
• Construct current needed items, and components following written instructions, verbal instructions, and pre-established patterns.
• Maintain quality objectives and standards of the department and company while following all safety rules and regulations.
• Keep the workplace clean, tidy, and in safe working order.
• Make sure all equipment, tools, and materials are in good working order at all times.
• Maintain the highest safety standards and code compliance for guests and staff on a daily basis.
• Other duties as requested by the Manager, Senior Team, or VP/GM

Requirements:

• An amazing self-starter with integrity to work on their own without direct supervision.
• Ambition to learn new patterns and skill sets.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and excellent attendance.
• Proven attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills and goal setter.
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Team player – be flexible and open to new ideas and changing priorities.
• Must be 18 years of age for operation of equipment.
• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
• Excellent hand and eye coordination.
• Experience with specialized industrial sewing machines.
