REPORTS TO: TRAFFIC UNIT COMMANDER/PARKING ENFORCEMENT SUPERVISOR
NATURE OF WORK
The responsibilities for this position include working at the Parking Facilities charging and accounting for vehicles entering and leaving the parking facility. In addition, this position may be responsible for turning the parking facility lights “on” and “off” and monitoring garage activities and notifying appropriate personnel for required response or supplies). Must be able to work 15-20 hrs./week, variable shifts of 5-6 hours between 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Mon-Sat.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Collect appropriate fee and account for vehicles entering and exiting the parking facility.
- Balance collections at end of shift.
- Provide parking information to patrons.
- Accurately enter transactions into the garage computer system.
- Maintain courteous attitude.
- Issue parking violation notices.
- Handle issues in garages needing immediate attention during shift; contact proper personnel.
- Report booth supply needs to office.
- Observe and report information on parking situations.
- Routine enforcement of parking regulations.
- Able to meet attendance requirements of the position.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
May serve as back-up to Parking Enforcement and Collections for additional compenation.
Performs all other work assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to function under pressure.
Ability to calculate basic mathematical functions, such as computing parking rates, handling basic cash transactions, making change, etc.
Able to work independently without close supervision, to involve problem-solving skills, ability to answer customer questions and handle customer problems and complaints.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/G.E.D or currently enrolled in High School
