The ideal candidate will possess a background in underwriting and be committed to delivering outstanding service and underwriting results. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Underwrite and price Lead Umbrella and Excess Casualty policies for US based risks. Develop a sound understanding of the underwriting strategy for areas of responsibility. Cultivate strong relationships with brokers, clients, and key industry stakeholders. Develop the skills required to manage a portfolio of new and renewal business. Collaboratively work with our internal Underwriting, Claims, Risk Engineering, Regional Leadership and Sales & Distribution teams to effectively meet quality servicing standards and to achieve underwriting goals. Adhere to portfolio management goals, company guidelines, and objectives to ensure underwriting discipline and book profitability. Assist with comprehensive assessments of accounts and ensure timely and accurate file documentation. Assist in growing the excess portfolio with preferred casualty business. Participating in relevant industry events and conferences. Business travel as required to support the above objectives, and the appropriate management of expenses. Qualifications, Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Preferred 2-5 years of casualty insurance industry experience, with wholesale excess casualty underwriting experience preferred. Strong analytical as well as communication and presentation skills.
