Overview
Mt. Olive Care, LLC is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Support Staff (a.k.a Supportive Living Arrangement Staff) to provide person-centered care and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role is essential in promoting independence, safety, and quality of life within a supportive living environment. Staff will work directly with individuals in their homes and communities to help them achieve personal goals and lead meaningful, empowered lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and daily living assistance to individuals in a supportive living setting
- Support individuals with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
- Implement individualized care plans and support strategies
- Assist with medication administration and health monitoring (as trained)
- Encourage and support participation in community activities, appointments, and outings
- Document progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with company policies
- Promote independence, choice, and skill-building in everyday tasks
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and clean living environment
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, supervisors, and team members
- Respond calmly and appropriately to behavioral or emergency situations
- Uphold the rights, dignity, and confidentiality of each individual
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Previous experience in home care, patient care, or working in a group home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality is essential.
- Familiarity with assisting individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to person-centered care.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting or transferring clients when necessary.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, or weekends.
