Dumps product from jars as indicated and washes, packs, codes and labels reworked jars and cases in the rework area.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Checks pallets for rework items. Dumps product from jars as indicated by cocked caps, slack pack, fermentation, rusty lids, etc. Washes jars as needed in washer. Packs, codes and labels reworked jars. Important to determine that labels are applied properly on jar and that all jars in each case have identical codes. Prepares cases according to rework items and stencils description, item and UPC codes on carton. Glues carton tops and stacks on pallet for delivery to shipping.
Records number of items and cases reworked and gives this information to Supervisor or designee.
Lifts cases from pallet to table as needed.
Hand-packs jars from reshipper cartons into gift packaging as instructed.
Occasionally travels to Distribution Center or outside warehouse to perform rework duties.
Keeps work area clean and orderly.
Follows safety rules and company policies.
Other Duties
May assist in assembling displays.
May be moved to other departments occasionally to perform duties of jobs such as Packer or Cutting Inspector.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
No special educational requirements. Ability to read, write and speak English preferred.

Coders, Stencils, Knife, Pliers, Mallet, Scales, Pans, Brooms, Brushes.
Physical Demands
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontal from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm in handling.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (ie., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (ie., security guard, inspection, etc.)
Work Environment
Works inside, subject to some seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from some job tasks. Fumes from hot pepper and forklifts. Earplugs required because of irritating machinery noise. Some contact with grease. Aprons and gloves required for some job duties. Headcover and beardcover required.
