Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, skilled and experienced Lead Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in leading our staff in high-quality patient care, in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires strong critical thinking, interpersonal skills, clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. As a Lead Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting both inpatient and outpatient services, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care. (PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT a Level II Trauma Center, as indicated in the workplace description.)
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Supervise a small, dedicated team of Medical Assistants.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Train clinical staff, as needed.
- Perform basic emergency, and non-emergency, medical procedures as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with staff and patients.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Support medical practices by assisting with various clinical tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medical office or clinic.
- Other duties, as requested.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years work experience.
- Minimum 2 years work experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Proficiency in basic life support techniques and medication administration.
- Familiarity with clinical medicine practices and emergency medicine protocols.
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience working in an clinic setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
- Willingness and ability to learn the EHR system and adapt to new technologies.
- Preference will be given to candidates with previous leadership experience.
